The Golden Welcome Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Many people are surprised to learn we are in independent organization and receive no funding from state or city tax dollars. We are funded by donations, grants, merchandise sales and facility rentals.
Each and every contribution helps us carry out our mission to help promote the Golden brand, create a positive experience, and to tell the story of Golden through information – all while supporting the needs of the building and community.
Contributions support the maintenance and care of the GWC. Donations may be restricted to specific areas, or support general operations. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, donations are fully tax deductible within the limits of the state and federal law.
Your financial gift is deeply appreciated.
The GWC is the face of Golden – and so are our volunteers! Staffed with entirely all volunteers, our welcome desk staff answer the many tourist questions, but also serve as a local resource for residents and the general community. The GWC is open year-round and the welcome desk is staffed in 3 or 4 hours shifts, depending on the season.
We are always looking for volunteers to assist at the welcome desk and to help out with other tasks. Duties may include welcoming visitors, answering visitor questions, orienting visitors to available recreation opportunities, and some light cleaning and organizing. There are also other opportunities such as gardening and building maintenance.
